Maybank Indonesia Launches Smart and Flexible Financial Solution: Maybank U & U iB Savings

Jakarta, 1 September 2021 – PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk. (“Maybank Indonesia or the Bank”) today launched the smart financial solutions Maybank U, and U iB Savings (based on Sharia principles under a Mudharabah contract), both designed to provide Customers with flexible daily financial transactions while simultaneously helping them to set aside savings for future financial requirements through a single savings solution. Maybank U Savings and U iB Savings solutions may be accessed by Customers and the general public through the Maybank Indonesia M2U ID digital platform.

Adopting the theme U spend, U save, U earn, #UptoU!, Maybank U and U iB Savings represent Maybank Indonesia's innovative answer to the requirements of Customers, especially urban millennials, young professionals and the digitally savvy, as well as young families who enjoy adopting the innovations influencing modern lifestyles, to help them prepare savings in line with the Customer's financial planning.

Maybank U Savings and U iB Savings offer two accounts (2-in-1) in one savings account. The U Transactional account functions as the main account that may be used for daily financial transactions such as shopping, paying monthly bills, making inter-bank transfers and reloading various e-wallet applications. The U Goal Saver account, as part of the Maybank U and U iB Savings solution, functions as a savings account. Customers may set aside funds, from IDR 100,000 per month for their choice of duration option, in the U Goal Saver.


All financial activities of Maybank U and U iB Savings, from opening a savings account to managing funds and accounts, and managing regular savings, may be controlled by the Customer through the integrated M2U ID platform. This integration allows Customers to open Maybank U and U iB Savings accounts online without visiting a branch office. Maybank U and U iB Savings Customers can now make cash withdrawals at all Maybank ATMs in Indonesia through the QR Cardless Withdrawal feature by simply scanning the QR with the M2U ID application.

The basic concept underlying the U by Maybank savings product is helping Customers develop their finances, as the more transactions they make, the greater the value of their savings. Customers who enjoy shopping or dining at the top restaurants can receive direct discounts at more than 500 merchants and 10% Cashback which is automatically deposited into the U Goal Saver account to increase the Customer's savings balance.

The 10% Cashback will be received from every Customer transaction using a debit card and QRIS at all merchants, including when the Customer makes regular monthly bill payments through M2U ID. The Cashback can be verified on the Customer's M2U ID Application.

Other benefits of Maybank U and U iB Savings include freedom from cash withdrawal transaction fees at the ATMs of other banks up to 30 times per month and fees for online transfers to other banks up to 10 times per month through the M2U ID Application, as well as freedom from monthly account administration fees as long as a minimum balance of IDR 500,000 is maintained before the transaction, which is quite affordable.

Maybank U and U iB Savings Customers may also take part in the My Happy & Lucky Bank lottery program, provided they make transactions through the M2U ID application, to gain an opportunity to win a Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, Nissan Kicks and hundreds of other prizes. Opening a Maybank U or U iB Savings account through the M2U ID Application will earn the Customer 5 points; maintain an average balance of IDR 2 million per month and receive 1 point, as well as an additional 10% from the total points of newly referred Customers. The collection of points for the My Happy & Lucky Bank program will end on March 31, 2022.
