Jakarta, 27 September 2024 – The Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders ("EGMS") of PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk. ("Maybank Indonesia or the Bank") held at the Bank's Head Office in Senayan, Jakarta, approved the appointment of new members to the Board of Commissioners and Directors, and Shariah Supervisory Board. These appointments will take effect following the conclusion of the 2024 EGMS until the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders in 2027 and upon obtaining approval from Otoritas Jasa Keuangan.
The newly appointed members are as follows:
- Daniel James Rompas has been appointed as an Independent Commissioner. Mr Rompas is currently a member of the Board of Directors at Lembaga Pembiayaan Ekspor Indonesia (LPEI), a state-owned financing institution. He has extensive banking experience, having served as Vice President Director at CIMB Niaga, where he focused on retail, MSME, commercial banking, Shariah banking, and credit and risk management. Mr Rompas also has prior banking experience at Citibank.
- Bianto Surodjo has been appointed Director, overseeing the Bank's retail and non-retail banking and loan portfolio business. Before joining Maybank Indonesia, Bianto served as Director of Allianz Life Indonesia and President Commissioner of Allianz Life Syariah Indonesia. He also has a strong background in wealth management, e-channel, product and business development at several banking institutions namely, Permata Bank, Barclays Indonesia, Bank Internasional Indonesia (BII), and ABN AMRO.
- M. Sa'ad Ih has been appointed Chairman of Shariah Supervisory Board. M. Sa’ad was Bank Jatim's Shariah Banking Supervisory Board member and a Postgraduate Program Director at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Malang, East Java. He is also actively involved in several organisations, including the Islamic organisation of Muhammadiyah, where he serves as Chairperson. M. Sa’ad is also a lecturer at UIM Maulana Malik Ibrahim in Malang.
- Achmad Satori Ismail has been appointed as a member of Shariah Supervisory Board. He holds a Doctorate degree from Al Minya University in Egypt and has extensive experience as a Professor at UIN Ciputat and Lecturer at UIN Jakarta. He is also Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) Shariah board member, chairperson at several Islamic foundations, and counsellor at a number of Islamic boarding schools.

The following conditions apply:
*) Appointment of Daniel James Rompas as Independent Commissioner and Bianto Surodjo as Director will be effective after obtaining approval from the applicable Regulator.
**) Appointment of M. Sa’ad Ih as Chairman of Shariah Supervisory Board and Ahmad Satori Ismail as Member of Shariah Supervisory Board will be effective after obtaining approval from the applicable Regulator. Muhammad Anwar Ibrahim and Mohammad Bagus Teguh Perwira to continue with their respective duties and authorities as Chairman and Members of Shariah Supervisory Board until M. Sa’ad Ih and Sodikun have effectively assumed their roles and responsibilities as the Chairman and Members of Shariah Supervisory Board of Maybank Indonesia.
